Research
Design
For our design, we decided to cut our beach ball in half and connect them with duct tape. This would ensure that we use our materials, while being as resourceful as we could. We made a frame our of pipe cleaners, and then laid our cut beach ball over top. We then covered the openings with duct tape, in order to make it as air tight as possible.
In order to solve the six different of obstacles of oxygen, pressure, food, water, radiation, and energy, we placed toothpicks with information attached to our final product. We also included an orthographic drawing, as well as a floor plan.
To fit the aesthetic design, we painted our hab black, and placed red paper on the base to replicate the surface of Mars.
